Getzlaf named NHL Third Star of the Week (week ending March 26)

The Anaheim Ducks seized sole possession of the Pacific Division with their fourth-straight win on Sunday and now the NHL has formally recognized the captain of the Ducks ship for his stellar week.

On Monday, NHL announced Ryan Getzlaf as the Third Star of the Week for the week ending March 26.

Contributing seven assists over the team's last three games, Getzlaf has been hot at just the right time for the Ducks.

Getzlaf's three assists in a 4-3 win over Edmonton, gave the Ducks a bit of breathing room in their chase for a playoff spot before the captain topped the performance with a four assist game against the Rangers on Sunday.

The Ducks are now two points clear of division rivals San Jose and the Oilers.

Tampa's Nikita Kuckerov and Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen claimed first and second star honors.
