Clippers reportedly discussing new arena at Rams/Chargers complex

No Clippers in the Staples Center ... that would just feel odd.

But team owner Steve Ballmer is brilliant (and very energetic), and looking for the most exposure for his squad.

On Friday, the LA Times reported Ballmer has engaged in talks with Rams owner Stan Kronke about adding an arena to the Rams/Chargers complex in Inglewood, which is set to open in 2019.

Kronke is overseeing the construction of the $2.6 billion stadium on 298 acres. The site isn't currently zoned for basketball, which would complicate matters.

The Clippers have shared Staples Center with the Lakers since 1999. The Clippers' lease at Staples Center, however, doesn't end until 2024.
