UNC Asheville replacing women's coach Betsy Blose
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP)
UNC Asheville director of athletics Janet R. Cone says the school is looking for a new women's basketball coach.
Betsy Blose, the Bulldogs head coach for the past 10 years, has been reassigned to an athletic administration position at the school, Cone said Tuesday in a press release.
Blose compiled a 125-172 record in her time at Asheville, but the Bulldogs finished 7-23 overall and 3-15 in the Big South Conference this past season. Asheville finished eighth in the league and lost in the tournament quarterfinals.
Cone says a nationwide search has begun for a replacement.
Cone says Blose will serve as special assistant to the director of athletics, assisting with NCAA compliance, student-athlete services and other special assignments. Asheville has not had a winning season since the 2006-07.
