Best Person in Sports: Clayton Kershaw

In 2010, on a trip to Zambia, Clayton Kershaw’s wife Ellen met Hope, a 9-year old with the HIV virus.  Sick, malnourished and orphaned, Ellen took Hope’s story to heart, and others like her.  Clayton became involved and the Kershaw’s took up the cause to do good and improve communities in need.

In 2011, Kershaw’s Foundation was established.  They built an orphanage in Zambia, then got involved in the community in L.A., and on to Dallas where Clayton is from.

Clayton’s Foundation hosted "Ping Pong 4 Purpose" last night at Dodger Stadium.  Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet MC’d the event, as teammates and celebs came out to play and support Kershaw’s efforts.

We know Clayton Kershaw, the masterful ace of the Dodgers staff and one of the top pitchers in baseball.  What we are learning about Kershaw off the diamond is that he is an equally remarkable person.  That is why is our Best Person in Sports.
