A UFC fight card in Sacramento, California just wouldn’t be right without Urijah Faber as he’ll be facing Brad Pickett at UFC on FOX 22.
With UFC Sacramento going down in December, the card is shaping up to be a great one. Many fans were wondering whether or not “The California Kid” Urijah Faber would be competing on the card.
In his last outing, Faber faced Jimmie Rivera at UFC 203. Unfortunately for him, Rivera was able to dominate every round and aspect of that fight, and considering the punishment he took in that matchup, we were unsure whether or not Faber would be ready to fight at UFC on FOX 22.
It looks like he will be making the walk. On Tuesday, according to The Sacramento Bee, it was announced that Faber will be facing Brad Pickett at UFC on FOX 22 in Sacramento. Both fighters are veterans of the sport and some of the greatest lighter-weight fighters of all-time.
Not too long ago, Faber competed for the UFC’s bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz, but he fell short and lost the match-up by unanimous decision. Throughout his entire career, Faber has faced some of the best in the world, such as Jose Aldo, Renen Barao and Frankie Edgar. Weven with all the years he’s put into MMA, he’s still going strong.
Pickett is another tough customer. It can be argued that he’s definitely on the decline, losing four of his last five fights, but he always brings it. He fought against Iuri Alcantara at UFC 204 and was dropped early in the first round before getting submitted.
Many people believe that these two don’t have much left in them to compete with the best in the sport. If this is the last time each of them fight, expect them to go out with a bang and leave their marks on MMA history.
