In a new short video feature (above), Urijah Faber (31-7) and his Team Alpha Male mates talk about their ambitions to turn their stable into the best MMA team in the world. The squad, founded and run by Faber out of his Ultimate Fitness gym in Sacramento, is already one of the elite MMA teams in the world.
When the former world champ Faber started Team Alpha Male, however, few would have believed it would get as far as it has, so quickly. Faber himself, however, never doubted his dream or plans.
"I don’t know where I come up with my ideas," Faber tells FoxSports when asked how and why he came up with his MMA super team concept.

As a top UFC bantamweight contender, team leader, and business owner, Faber wears a lot of different hats, each with their own set of responsibilities and demands on his time. "The California Kid" says that his biggest role is still that as a fighter, but he believes that his legacy will also be for what he did for and with others.
I don’t know why I do the things I do. I just have ideas, and I’m not afraid to do it. I’m fearless when I have an idea or goal. I’m not afraid to trust myself and work hard.
"I’m a fighter, for sure," he says.
"But I really think people see me as something bigger than myself. I’m interested in building things bigger than myself."
Observers may marvel at Faber’s multi-tasking, but the fighter says that when you’re committed, there are plenty of hours in the day to accomplish your dreams.
"I just had a reported from a UK magazine follow me around for a story. He was a young guy but he told me, ‘man, I cannot believe how much you fit into a day,’" Faber remembers with a chuckle.
"There are a lot of things I do each day from practice, meetings, going to a movie premier, to whatever. I like to stay busy. I mean, you sleep for six to eight hours a day. Then, you train for three to five hours a day. That’s only about eleven hours out of your day. You’ve maybe got twelve more hours to do whatever the heck you want."
Faber next fights Dec. 6 at UFC 181 against Francisco Rivera (10-3). Check back with us next week for another exclusive feature on Faber, as well as all of our UFC 181 coverage!
