A pair of middleweight prospects are set to clash in Germany.
Luke Barnatt and Sean Strickland, both undefeated and coming off huge wins, will meet in the Octagon at UFC Fight Night at the O2 World Berlin on May 31, the UFC announced Tuesday.
Barnatt (8-0) was dominant in knocking out Mats Nilsson on March 8 in his native England. The 25-year-old is an alum of The Ultimate Fighter 17 and, at 6-foot-6, is one of the most athletic big men in the UFC.
"When I get the knockout and end this young man's dream, at least he can take warmth in the fact he has a stamp on his passport and can enjoy the beautiful city of Berlin," Barnatt told UFC.com. "I'm ready."
Strickland (14-0) is more experienced than Barnatt, but just 23 years old. He submitted Bubba McDaniel in the first round of his last fight, on March 15 at UFC 171 in Dallas. McDaniel was ironically Barnatt's castmate on TUF 17.
"From what I have seen from Luke, I predict this is going to be a long war between two talented fighters," Strickland said. "I expect us to both take risks and try to finish the fight. In the end I will come out on top and will remain undefeated."
