For the first time in four years, the UFC will return to Austin, Texas for an upcoming UFC Fight Night on FOX Sports 1 card from the Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas on November 22.
The new date and event were announced during Wednesday night’s broadcast of UFC Tonight.
The arena in Austin has hosted a past UFC event in 2010 with middleweights Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares headlining the show. Texas has become a popular hot spot with the UFC over the last year with shows emanating from Dallas, Houston and most recently San Antonio.
Now the promotion will head back to Austin, Texas to put on a UFC Fight Night on FOX Sports 1 card on November 22.
No fights have been announced for the upcoming card although it’s likely the promotion will start filling things up in the near future as ticket on sale dates get closer. The UFC had originally talked about taking a show to Istanbul, Turkey around the same time but it appears they’ve decided to forgo those plans and instead move ahead with the show in Austin in November.
