It will never end up on a highlight reel as one of the UFC's greatest fights of all time, but Thiago Silva did enough to punish and batter Matt Hamill for 15 straight minutes to earn a lopsided decision win.

Heading into the night, Silva was a heavy favorite over Hamill but he took that a little too literally because he came in two pounds over the weight limit as well, automatically forfeiting 25-percent of his fight purse to his opponent.

The weight cutting struggles showed when Silva walked out into the arena in Brazil as well, looking soft around the edges and he even managed to earn a special tweet from UFC president Dana White critiquing his dietary plan.

Whether he was in shape or not, Silva still ended up being in better condition than Hamill, who was gasping for air, putting his hands down and basically begging for the fight to be over with time still remaining on the clock.

Silva crushed Hamill's legs for three straight rounds and had the Ohio native hurt on a few occasions, but with his own gas tank depleted he just couldn't pull the trigger to finish the job.

With less than 30 seconds left to go in the fight, Hamill was literally standing in front of Silva with his hands down just waiting to get hit, but the Brazilian struggled to lift his own arms to throw the punches necessary to end his night before the final bell.

The fight ended mercifully with Silva getting the nod by unanimous decision, picking up his second straight win in a row. The loss pushes Hamill's career record to 11-5 overall, but after a horrid performance on Wednesday he may have a hard time earning another bout inside the UFC octagon.
