Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will head Down Under in an attempt to get over his losing streak. The former UFC light-heavyweight champion has signed off to face James Te Huna on Dec. 7’s UFC Fight Night event in Brisbane, Australia. The fight will serve as the night’s co-main event.

The UFC confirmed the matchup on Wednesday after it was reported by Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph.

The 31-year-old Rua was defeated by Chael Sonnen in August, marking the first time in his career he’s suffered consecutive losses. After losing three of his last four, Rua is now 21-8 and has slid to No. 10 in the divisional rankings.

His opponent Te Huna will be looking for the first major win of his career, and he’ll certainly have the crowd in his favor, as he fights out of Sydney. He, too, will be looking to earn his way back into the win column after a May submission defeat to Glover Teixeira snapped a four-fight win streak. The 31-year-old is 16-6.

The event, to be held at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, features heavyweight sluggers Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the evening’s headliner.
