A UFC official confirmed to FOX Sports that Russian fighter Alexander Yakovlev has signed a contract with the organization. He beat Daley by decision at Legend – Part 2: Invasion on Nov. 8 in Moscow.

Yakovlev, 29, is on a three-fight winning streak and carries an overall record of 21-4-1 including 16 finishes. The welterweight has been around a long time – his first pro bout took place in 2004 when he was just 20 years old. He’s fought primarily for M-1 throughout his career, but also competed once for Bodog Fight.

The St. Petersburg native makes yet another UFC signee from Russia, the country that had the most success in the company in 2013 without the UFC actually visiting it.
