Rory MacDonald will look to erase the bad memories of a loss in his last fight when he takes on submission
specialist Demian Maia at UFC
170 on Feb 22 in Las Vegas.
The bout was rumored to be in the works earlier this week, but
now UFC officials
have confirmed the top ten welterweight battle for early
MacDonald (15-2) appeared to be on a fast track toward a title
shot next year until he ran into veteran fighter Robbie Lawler at
UFC 167. The young Canadian kept the fight close, but ended up
being overwhelmed by Lawler in the third round and lost a split
decision win the night was over.
