Romero vs Brunson, Pichel vs Whitely added to UFC Fight Night in Atlanta

Two new fights have been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night
card in Atlanta including Olympic silver medalist Yoel Romero
against Derek Brunson as well as Vinc Pichel taking on Garrett
Whitely.

Following a very brief career in Strikeforce, Cuban born
wrestler Yoel Romero made his move to the UFC where he’s pulled off
back-to-back knockout wins over Clifford Starks and Ronny Markes.
Despite his noted grappling pedigree, Romero has become a vicious
striker of late, but he’ll have his hands full when he faces
another true athlete in Derek Brunson.

Brunson was also a Strikeforce transfer who has picked up two
wins in a row as well since coming to the UFC. The North Carolina
native bested Chris Leben in his debut fight and then submitted UFC
newcomer Brian Houston at the UFC Fight for the Troops show in
Kentucky.

The two fighters were originally scheduled to meet at UFC 164,
but injuries prevented the bout from happening so now they will
meet in January at the upcoming UFC Fight Night event in
Atlanta.

Also added to the card was former Ultimate Fighter competitor
Vinc Pichel, who looks to get back on track after a brutal outing
against Rustam Khabilov in his last bout when he takes on
Indianapolis fighter and Chris Lytle disciple Garrett Whitely.

Both fighters will be seeking their first UFC win as they square
off on the undercard for the upcoming show in Atlanta.
