Tim Kennedy is an emerging contender in the UFC middleweight division, a two-time Strikeforce title challenger, and a well rounded, highly conditioned athlete poised to headline next month’s UFC Fight for the Troops event opposite Rafael “Sapo” Natal.

Kennedy was a fitting selection to serve as one of the main event participants, as the 34-year-old is both a 16-4 professional fighter and a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army with the 7th Special Forces Group.

In this raw and emotional segment from UFC Ultimate Insider, the Team Jackson-Winkeljohn representative discusses the event that prompted him to enlist, and looks back on one of the battles he survived while serving overseas.

Check out the griping video above and take heed of Kennedy’s ultimate message – support our troops in every way possible.
