A pair of lightweights on a roll will meet in Brazil.
Gleison Tibau and Piotr Hallman have been booked to face off in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night in Brasilia on Oct. 15, the UFC announced Tuesday. The card will air live on UFC Fight Pass.
Tibau (29-10) is coming off a unanimous decision over Pat Healy just two weeks ago in Atlantic City. He fell to Michael Johnson before that last December, but overall he has won three of his last four fights. At 31, Tibau is still in his prime and searching for a spot in the UFC’s lightweight contender rankings. The Brazilian has been around a long time. His first UFC fight was in 2006 against Nick Diaz and he has accumulated 14 UFC victories.
Hallman (15-2) is more of a newcomer and prospect. The Polish striker has won 11 of his last 12 fights with his lone loss coming to Al Iaquinta last October. Most recently, he earned a Performance of the Night bonus by choking out Yves Edwards last month in Albuquerque. Hallman, 26, now trains at the MMA Lab in Arizona.
UFC Fight Night in Brasilia is headlined by a heavyweight scrap between Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva and Andrei Arlovski.
