Condit shows tremendous improvement
Carlos Condit is back with a vengeance.
After dropping his last two bouts against champion Georges St-Pierre and current number one contender Johny Hendricks, Condit had his back to the wall. Losing three consecutive fights in the UFC is a bad, bad look for ones resume, but in true championship form, Condit responded to adversity but kicking, punching and kneeing it directly in the face.
Martin Kampmann pushed the pace early on and had Condit on his heels at the end of the first round. However, that was the last dominance exhibited by 'The Hitman' for the rest of the fight.
From the second round until the fourth round finish, Condit displayed an outrageously well rounded skill-set that showed marked improvement in his weak area, wrestling and takedown defense, as well as a nose for the finish that he'd been lacking in recent fights.
By the fourth round, Condit could practically taste the finish. Landing a big left hook to the body, 'The Natural Born Killer' pounced on Kampmann and finished him with a barrage of punches and knees that had the crowd on their feet.
Welcome back, Carlos. We hope you stick around.
