On this week’s edition of the Great MMA Debate podcast, we are rolling with four guests including former UFC champion Benson Henderson, John Dodson, Michael Chandler and TUF 19 coach Ali Abdel-Aziz plus plenty of debate about last weekend’s double header and this weekend’s UFC Fight Night card in Albuquerque.
Benson Henderson drops by to gives us his thoughts on the upcoming fight against Rustam Khabilov and the frustration of fighting consistently while the champion Anthony Pettis continues to sit on the sidelines dealing with injuries.
Henderson’s philosophy on fixing the problem seems pretty simple.
"Title or not, whether I have the championship belt or I don’t, if you have the championship what does that mean? It means you’re fighting the best people. If the belt’s not being defended and you’re not fighting the top people, give those top people to me. I’ll take it. I’ll do the job without the belt."
Also on the show, John Dodson talks about fighting John Moraga for a second time as well as his mission to get back to a rematch against Demetrious Johnson. Michael Chandler also joins the podcast to discuss his loss to Will Brooks and whether or not he’s targeting that rematch or a fight with Eddie Alvarez instead. TUF 19 coach Ali Abdel-Aziz also drops by for a chat about working with Team Edgar and much more.
Plus the debate topics cover a wide variety of subjects this week including whether or not the UFC running two shows in one day was a great idea or disastrous? And following his second straight loss, what’s next for Mark Munoz in the UFC?
All this and plenty more on the latest Great MMA Debate podcast.
