Anderson Silva reveals who he wants to fight at UFC 212 in Brazil
Former middleweight champion Anderson Silva appears ready to book his next fight for UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil against a familiar face from his past.
Silva took to Instagram on Monday to ask for a fight with Nick Diaz for the upcoming card on June 3 in his home country.
Silva faced Diaz back in 2015 and won the fight by unanimous decision but the result was later overturned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after he tested positive for a banned substance.
While Silva's first choice in opponents remains Michael Bisping, he knows the current middleweight champ is slated to face Georges St-Pierre later this year with the title on the line. So in the meantime, Silva likes the idea of facing Diaz in a rematch in June.
"We are three great professionals, what makes the most sense at the moment, is not his fight with any other, but with me, regardless of belt. Regardless of the show, we respect each other, a new fight between us, would be a great fight of gentlemen," Silva said.
"Because with Nick [Diaz], it was a no contest, we have a story to tell, I'll wait for you in Brazil. And I'm waiting for you, Mr. Bisping, after your fight with GSP."

Silva has long desired a chance to earn a rematch with Bisping after falling to him in a very close decision last year. It appears that desire still burns deep but Silva knows he's not getting Bisping right now so he's looking at a rematch with Diaz instead.
Diaz hasn't competed since the fight with Silva although he's been teasing a return to action for some time now but still hasn't booked a matchup in the UFC.
Diaz was offered fights with both welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Robbie Lawler at UFC 209 in March but declined both opponents.
Perhaps a chance to rectify his previous performance against Silva would be enough to coax Diaz back into the Octagon for another fight.
Silva teased after his last win over Derek Brunson that he may fight at the upcoming UFC card in Brazil and now it appears he's targeting that as his return to action.
Now it's only a matter of getting Diaz to accept the challenge or finding another worthy opponent willing to face Silva on his home turf in Brazil.
