Anderson Silva: Conor McGregor is the Best Striker in MMA

Anderson Silva was incredibly complimentary of Conor McGregor’s striking technique, and has interest in testing his abilities against the lightweight champion.Anderson Silva is considered by many to be the greatest MMA fighter of all time. For years he ruled the middleweight division like a God, humiliating legendary contenders with his elusive, creative striking.Naturally, during the advent of Conor McGregor, comparisons were made. One of the earliest surfaced in a ‘Before the Fame’ interview with McGregor’s Coach John Kavanagh:“I think the way [McGregor] strikes is just different from everyone…barring maybe Anderson Silva. For me I think it’s a good challenge for my technique and for my martial arts technique and stand up. I think this is the great fight in my mind, but I don’t know – one day, maybe.”This is not the first time silva has expressed his admiration of McGregor, or an interest in fighting him. At his recent Q&A session, McGregor addressed the attention:“You see Anderson? What’s Anderson talking about? What the f*** is Anderson Silva talking about? He keeps mentioning my name over and over again…” Look, I’ll fight any one of them. Make sure the numbers are right. Make sure the situation is right.
