With the Vols trailing No. 11 South Carolina in the waning moments on Saturday, receiver Marquez North’s in-traffic, one-handed catch for 39 yards helped solidify Tennessee’s 23-21 upset in Knoxville.
Michael Paladry’s 19-yard field goal, as the time expired, clinched the home victory for the Vols … and consigned the Gamecocks to their second loss in SEC action.
With Florida, Georgia and the Gamecocks all falling on this day, Missouri (7-0, 3-0) now owns a two-game lead in the SEC East, with outings against South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Texas A&M still on the docket.
