Mental Health Month

National Alliance on Mental Illness:

May is Mental Health Month and the National Alliance on Mental Illness and FOX Sports are pledging to be stigmafree while teaming up to spread awareness and advocate for those living with mental health conditions. So what does it mean to be stigmafree?

Learn about mental health issues: Knowledge is power and understanding the signs, symptoms and variation of mental illnesses can allow you to be more understanding and acknowledge when those around you may be suffering.

See the person, not the condition: So often the stigma that is placed on mental health keeps those affected from seeking help for fear of what their peers may think of them. Seeing through the condition and treating those around you with kindness and empathy can have a big impact and possibly open the doors to an early life-saving intervention.

Take action: Show your support by posting on social media using #stigmafree all month long to join the millions of Americans affected by mental health.

If you or someone you know is affected by mental illness, you can share your story as an inspiration to others or donate to the NAMI fund to advocate for those living with mental health conditions and provide them and their families with the support they need.
