An enthralling race at the Gran Premio Red Bull de la Republica Argentina saw Marc Marquez clinch his third win of the year, ahead of and in the top three.

As the race at Termas de Rio Hondo got underway Marquez got caught up in the crowd on Lap 1 but played it patiently, picking off his opponents to get into second – eventually hunting down early leader Lorenzo, with his winning move coming 8 laps from the end.

The Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas proved to be difficult affair for the Movistar Yamaha team.

Indeed it was a weekend to forget for 2010 and 2012 MotoGP World Champion . Starting from fifth on the grid he made a jump start at the beginning of the race and received a ride-through penalty as a result.

The dark clouds looming over the Circuits of The Americas today may look like a small ray of hope for the bulk of the field, at least compared to the prospect of Marc Marquez riding off into the sunset.

Marquez has been in imperious form this weekend at the circuit he scored his first-ever MotoGP victory one year ago. teammate may still hold realistic hopes of overcoming Marquez, but the rest of the top men have lowered their sights with a podium result considered about the best they can hope for… unless something unusual happens.
