Edmunds Team Sets Coast-To-Coast Driving Record For Electric Cars

There’s a new coast-to-coast driving record, but it’s not so fast.

A team from Edmunds.com drove a Tesla Model S from the Los Angeles metro area to New York City in 67 hours, 21 minutes, beating Tesla’s own cross-country mark for electric of 76 hours, 5 minutes, set earlier this year.

Tesla, a relatively new car brand to the auto market renown for making fully-electric vehicles, is getting set to rival the BMW 3 series with its upcoming Model III.

One of the major talking points on this upcoming vehicle is its price tag: $35,000 - half of what the current Model S costs.
