Villopoto Gets First Home-Track Win

Heading into Round 8 of the 2013 Pro Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, Poulsbo native carried a winless record in his home state of Washington. On Saturday, Villopoto went head-to-head with this season’s biggest rival, , where he captured his first ever overall victory at for the 33rd Annual Peterson CAT National.

Perhaps Villopoto’s 450 Class victory was a personal milestone for the 2011 450 Class Champion, but it also served as an end to Dungey’s five-year win streak at Washougal. Villopoto and Dungey split moto wins for the day, providing an exciting afternoon of racing at the championship’s only stop in the Pacific Northwest.

Villopoto Seeks First Home Motocross Win

For the first time since the opening round of the season, the 2013 Pro Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, will make its return to the Pacific Time Zone on Saturday, July 20, with its annual visit to , Wash., for the Peterson CAT National for Round 8 of the 12-race series.

Washington native looks to extend his points lead in the 450 Class by capturing his first ever Lucas Oil Pro Motocross win in front of his hometown crowd on Saturday. In four entries to the Washougal event, Villopoto is currently winless at his home track. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider currently holds 11 moto victories-the most of the season-while leading the way with four overall wins through the first seven rounds of the championship.

MX celebrated 40 years of hosting the world’s fastest racers on Saturday for Round 7 of the 2013 Pro Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. Taking place over Fourth of July weekend, a massive crowd was on hand to witness some of the most intense racing of the season at Buchanan’s Red Bull National in southwestern Michigan.

Amongst some of the sports most decorated racers, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s swept both motos in the 450 Class to capture his fourth overall victory of the season; further extending his points lead in the class. In the 250 Class, Red Bull KTM’s maintained his points lead after capturing a 2-1 moto score en route to his second overall win this season.

Title Chase Tightens Heading To RedBud

The 2013 Pro Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, reaches its halfway point this Saturday, July 6, with Round 7 of the 12-race series. Held at the famed MX track in Buchanan, Mich., the Red Bull National serves as the centerpiece of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, drawing spectators from all over the Midwest to witness the most prestigious motocross racers in the country do battle in the rolling hills of Southwestern Michigan.

Heading into the second half of the season, 2011 450 Class Champion and defending 450 Class Champion share the first six overall victories with three wins, respectively. Although each rider holds three overall wins, it’s Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Villopoto who tops the championship standings by a 12-point margin over Red Bull KTM’s Dungey. En route to his current points lead in the 450 Class, Villopoto has captured nine moto wins-the most of the season-as well as the distinction of being the only rider to win a moto at every race. While Dungey only has three moto wins under his belt, the Minnesota native is the only rider to finish atop the podium at each round of the championship thus far. Dungey looks to defend his two-race overall win streak against Villopoto this Saturday at RedBud
