LONG POND, Pennsylvania – When 18-month-old Ryden Hunter-Reay sees his Indianapolis 500-winning Dad put on his bright yellow DHL firesuit, he thinks it’s a “magic suit.”

“He freaks out every time he sees me in it,” Ryan Hunter-Reay told FOXSports.com “He thinks I’m Mickey Mouse or something. I’m about as cool as Mickey Mouse when I have my ‘magic suit’ on.”

Sebastien Bourdais was fined $10,000 and placed on probation for the rest of the season Wednesday for unsafe driving during last weekend’s race in Texas.

Bourdais was penalized after saying he thought he had positioned himself to prevent Justin Wilson from passing him on Lap 121. When Wilson tried to make the move, the two cars crashed.

Just one week after winning the biggest race of his life – the 98th running of the – Ryan Hunter-Reay followed with a downer in Detroit.

The 2012 Verizon Series champion arrived at Belle Isle looking like the king of the racing world and for a good reason. He won one of the most thrilling Indy 500s in history when he defeated three-time winner by just 0.0600 seconds in the second-closest Indianapolis 500 finish in history. Then it was off to New York for a victory tour that included ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange and an appearance on “Today” before jetting down to Dallas and a stop at Motor Speedway for more media appearances.

Castroneves capped a dominant weekend for Penske Racing in with a cruise down a bumpy street on Belle Isle, where he won the first of his 29 open-wheel races in 2000.

Takuma Sato has earned the pole position for Sunday’s second race of the Detroit Grand Prix.

Sato’s final lap in the second of two qualifying sessions knocked out of the top spot. Castroneves, who won the pole and finished fifth in Saturday’s first race, will start third under the series qualifying rules.
