It’s been a tough road thus far, but Ryan Dungey finally broke through for his first win of the season in Indy. The new winner was the fifth different rider to stand atop the podium this season, but following a wild night in Indy both the championship and Power Rankings experienced a bit of a shakeup. One thing that has stayed constant throughout the 2014 season is Ryan Villopoto, who’s back on top the rankings.

Who would have thought that the track conditions inside a domed stadium would be more difficult than one outside? Well, so far in three visits to domed stadiums the riders of Monster Energy have had to compete on arguably the three most difficult tracks of the season. Last weekend in Indy proved to the one of the toughest tests of many riders’ career and fittingly enough, the race produced wild moments and a shakeup in the championship.

SX: Dungey Wins Attrition-Filled Race In Indy

Round nine of the Monster Energy Championship in , Ind. proved to be the most difficult race of the season, and when the dust settled, it was Ryan Dungey celebrating his first win of 2014.

The Red Bull KTM star passed for the lead on Lap 5 and was unchallenged for the remainder of the 20-lap main event. The victory moves him into second in the title fight, 23 points behind Monster Energy Kawasaki’s .

SX: Roczen Takes Win Over Villopoto In Atlanta

Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen picked up his second Monster Energy win of the season Saturday night in front of 69,785 fans at the Georgia Dome in , Ga.

After trailing Ryan Villopoto for much of the 20-lap feature, Roczen capitalized on Villopoto’s mistake with six laps to go to capture the lead and eventual race win.

Dallas presented some of the most difficult track conditions of the season, but in the end cemented himself as the hottest rider in the championship by grabbing back-to-back victories and vaulting himself into the title hunt. The debut of the 250SX East Region produced yet another first time winner this season and gave a glimpse into what could become a dominant run for the most successful team in history.
