F1: Stevens to test for Caterham at Silverstone

Renault 3.5 frontrunner Will Stevens will drive for at the Silverstone test immediately after the British GP.

Stevens, who drove at the corresponding event last year, is Caterham’s simulator driver, and the test will give him the chance to get a proper feel the real car.

Lotus team owner Gerard Lopez has hit out at Renault after the F1 engine supplier revealed some of its customers are behind in payments.

Although Renault chief Jean-Michel Jalinier’s comments in Barcelona also triggered rumors about the future of , suspicion also fell on Lotus, who last year were famously late to pay Kimi Raikkonen.

F1: Grosjean test drives Prost’s 1983 Renault turbo

had a chance to experience turbo F1 cars of an earlier era when he drove Alain Prost’s Renault RE40 at Silverstone Thursday.

Prost finished second in the 1983 World Championship, losing out to Nelson Piquet’s Brabham at the final round in South Africa.

Late Paying Teams Could Cause Crisis, Says Renault F1 Boss

Renault Sport F1 boss Jean-Michel Jalinier says that the manufacturer’s 2014 program could be compromised by teams being late with payments.

He admitted that the situation could become critical within the next few weeks – and confirmed that the ultimate sanction could be to cease supply.

Renault Sport insists that it has got to the bottom of the problems suffered in Australia.

Although three of its cars made the points, the other five Renault powered cars failed to see the flag, albeit for a variety of reasons.
