Rahal to race special camouflage paint scheme for Fourth of July weekend

The usual red, white and blue livery on the No. 15 National Guard car of Graham Rahal’s will be replaced with a camouflage paint scheme for this weekend’s Pocono INDYCAR 500.

Rahal Letterman Langian Racing switched the livery in order to honor the 350,000 Army National Guard Soldiers during the Fourth of July weekend.

IndyCar team hauler catches fire on way to season opener

(RLL) reports that its hauler carrying Graham Rahal’s No. 15 race cars, to be driven during the 2014 season opener at St. Petersburg this weekend, caught fire Monday night.

The fire took place in Louisville, Ky. Yet, thanks to the efforts of transporter drivers Phil Davis and Paul Sheehan, and the Zoneton Fire Protection team, the cars and most of the racing equipment was not damaged.

IndyCar: Panther Racing Sues Series, Rahal Over Sponsorship

Panther Racing has sued , and others, saying it lost a $17.2 million sponsorship with the Army National Guard because of bid-rigging and other improprieties.

The lawsuit filed Feb. 19 in Marion County Court in follows a ruling earlier this year by the U.S. Government Accountability Office. The GAO denied Panther’s appeal of moving the Army National Guard sponsorship to ’s car for the upcoming IndyCar season.
