Members of the racing community are attempting to honor the memory of Sean Edwards by petitioning the governing body of Porsche SuperCup to hold the remaining two races of the 2013 season as “non-points scoring rounds.”

If successful, the initiative would allow Edwards to maintain his lead in the overall points standings and award him the Porsche SuperCup Championship posthumously. Jon Miller, petition organizer, has stated that within the first 36 hours of the petition posting that over 3000 signatures have been gathered.
