One of the star cars of the show was a totally tricked out 2013 Ford Mustang, which was used in the actual making of the “Need For Speed” movie and is just like the one used in the video game of the same name. The high-performance custom Mustang sold for $300,000 to Dave Flynn of the Flynn Automotive Group in Youngstown, Ohio. All of the proceeds went to benefit the Henry Ford Health System.Barrett-Jackson, Cars, Ford, Ford Mustang, Mustang, Palm Beach
The LeBron James name might have some magic in South Beach, but a little further up the east coast of Florida not quite as much, apparently.
Saturday at the 12th annual Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Collector Car Auction, a 2006 Bentley Arnage R luxury sedan that James once owned sold at auction for $65,000. That’s a far cry from its original base price of $212,990 when new. In fact, there was no celebrity premium at all for the maroon sedan.Barrett-Jackson, Cars, LeBron James, Palm Beach
About 550 cars are set to roll across the block Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a spectacular and diverse assortment of cars and trucks. That’s up from about 410 cars last year. The vast majority of the cars will sell at no reserve, meaning the high bidder will win the car, regardless of the final hammer price. Fewer than a dozen cars will sell with a reserve, or a required minimum bid price to change hands.Barrett-Jackson, Bentley, Cars, Corvette, Mustang, Palm Beach
