Trailer: ’33 Days – Born to be Wild’ Documentary From Lauda’s Crash To Return

In 2013, the well-received movie “Rush” took to the box offices, displaying the feud between champions and in a Hollywood-like fashion.

Now comes along ’33 Days – Born to be Wild,’ a new movie … or rather, documentary, which appears to take a more sedated approach to the struggle that Niki Lauda had to overcome from his fiery crash in the 1976 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring, to his solid return at the Italian Grand Prix just 33 days after leaving the hospital.

There’s been a further change to the entry list for next month’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, as the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) announced Tuesday the withdrawal of Lotus, which was set to compete in the new-for-2014 LMP1-L class.

The Kodewa-run effort, which had faced delays with the build of the new Lotus T129 AER, has given way for Millennium Racing to rejoin the field. The UAE-backed effort, run by Britain’s Delta Motorsport, was originally forced out of the race due to delays in their funding.

The Spanish GP was the fifth race in a row to see every lap led by a Mercedes. It’s a rare achievement, and it’s worth noting that only on two previous occasions – with McLaren in 1988 and Williams in 1992 – has one team proved utterly dominant. In the case of Williams, that run ended at round six in Monaco, although in 1988 McLaren kept its record up until the eighth race.

However, despite the flying start to the season, Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff remains cautious.
