F1: FIA Grants Formula 1 Entry To Romanian-Backed FRR Team

The FIA is understood to have finally granted an entry to the Romanian-backed FRR F1 Team project.

The FIA’s last public reference to the bid came on April 11, when the World Motor Sport Council granted an entry to Gene Haas but said it was “in the process of conducting further investigations for Forza Rossa,” using the name that forms part of the official FRR identity.

The huge yellow sea of Valentino Rossi fans were excited to see ‘The Doctor’ back on the Mugello podium, as he claimed third position at the Grand Prix of Italy.

Sunday also saw Rossi become the second rider to compete in 300 Grand Prix races, joining fellow Italian Loris Capirossi as a triple centurian.

Helio Castroneves celebrated in his signature style, climbing a fence, in the same place where he did it for the first time many years ago.

Castroneves’ crew joined him above the track in front of roaring fans and it was fitting because his behind-the-scenes teammates helped him have his way with the competition.

Toyota has shown that it may be the team to beat this year at Le Mans, as the Japanese manufacturer led the way in Sunday’s official test day for the 24-hour endurance classic.

Pitted against fellow LMP1 factory efforts from Audi and newcomers Porsche, it was the No. 8 Toyota TS040 Hybrid of Sebastien Buemi that was quickest. The Swiss driver reeled off a best lap of 3:23.014, set early in the four-hour afternoon session.
