While much of the attention in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans may be on the new-for-2014 LMP1 regulations and the three-way battle for the overall win between Audi, Toyota and Porsche, the production-based ranks is still expected to produce competitive battles, with an equally diverse grid.

FOXSports.com kicks off its comprehensive week-long coverage with a look at the teams from the GTE-Pro and GTE-Am classes that will take part on Saturday (8:30 a.m. ET LIVE FOX Sports 1)

Mugello had it all: Rossi’s 300th Grand Prix, rain on Friday and one of the best on-track fights in living memory thanks to Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo. This time out, they’re in Barcelona and fighting for glory on home turf.

Marquez and Lorenzo spent the second half of the Italian Grand Prix trading places on various occasions and at corners where one would not have expected a pass to take place. However, it was the same man coming out on top as Marquez made it to 150 points: maximum score for the first third of the season.

Sergio Perez and Force India have responded to criticism from Felipe Massa and Williams after the controversial last lap collision between the pair.

Perez was given a five-place grid penalty for Austria, essentially because he appeared to move left just before the incident.

One of the largest collections of military machines in the United States is being auctioned July 11-12 in California.

It was curated over the years by the late Jacques Littlefield, who housed the collection at his Military Vehicle Technology Foundation in Portola Valley.

Both Mercedes drivers were hit by an unexpected overheating problem with the Motor Generator Unit (Kinetic) in Canada, and it was just bad luck that saw Lewis Hamilton retire while Nico Rosberg was able to carry on.

The problem arose around the time of the second stops, just as Hamilton passed Rosberg for the lead. It was the time spent at rest in the pit lane – with no cooling air going through the system – that tipped Hamilton over the edge and led to his retirement.
