Another page was added to the Pro history book as the inaugural Built Ford Tough Tennessee National took place on Saturday at in Blountville, Tenn. For the first time in 15 years, the Lucas Oil Pro Championship, sanctioned by , made a stop in the Southeast region. At Round 3 of the 12-race series, new winners emerged in both the 450 and 250 Class as teammates (450) and Marvin Musquin (250) each secured their first overall win in 2013.

Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX rider Josh Grant laid down the fastest lap time of the day in the 450 Class, giving the California native first gate pick of the day. Moto 1 got off to an exciting start as Monster Energy Kawasaki’s shot off the gate to claim his first Motorcycle Superstore Holeshot of the season, as well as the early lead. It wasn’t without contention from Team Honda Muscle Milk’s though, as the two put on an exciting show for the fans by dicing back and forth at the beginning of Moto 1. In the second half of the race, Villopoto eventually put a gap on the rookie Barcia, where he went on to secure his fifth consecutive moto win this season.

The drivers who bet on Reds–Firestone’s Red alternate tires–early today in Detroit wished they put their money on black.

And the gamble, taken by Dale Coyne Racing on which tires to use (and when) with race winner Mike Conway, was nothing short of brilliant.

’s rule that mandates each driver must complete laps on both Red and Black tires during a race left teams with a few options to choose from heading into the first of the weekend’s doubleheaders, and in hindsight–and leading into Sunday’s race–there’s now one clear strategy to follow.

With heavy hearts, MX Sports Pro Racing and Moto-X 338 in , Mass., have announced that this season’s Moto-X 338 National on Saturday, June 29th, will be the final round of the Pro Championship, sanctioned by , to be hosted at the legendary sand track.

Moto-X 338 President Diane Peebles Pittello will step down as promoter of the fourth longest running round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and officially retire after 35 memorable years as an integral part of one of the most storied venues in motocross.

Perfect Villopoto Streaks Into Tennessee

For the first time in 15 years, the Pro Championship, sanctioned by , will make a stop in the Southeast for the inaugural running of the Built Ford Tough Tennessee National. Taking place this Saturday, June 1, at the historic in Blountville, Tenn., the highly anticipated Round 3 is sure to bring excitement to race fans throughout the south.

Muddy Creek Raceway has played host to some of the largest amateur motocross events in the country, making the third stop on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross tour somewhat familiar to many of the racers who grew up competing in the amateur ranks. Although the facility has undergone many changes to accommodate the Nationals, its natural-terrain, great dirt and rolling hills will showcase all the components that have made Muddy Creek Raceway such a successful venue over the years.
