After the British Grand Prix, sole tire supplier Pirelli changed the construction of the tires in order to avoid future delaminating issues. The new construction was similar to 2012’s Kevlar designed belt but incorporated 2013’s tread — a hybrid of sorts. The Kevlar-belted tires ran 10 degrees centigrade lower than the initial 2013 steel-belted tires.British Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso, Formula 1, Nico Rosberg, Pirelli, Sebastian Vettel
Lewis Hamilton says he was surprised to find he was only fifth in the Singapore GP, having initially thought that he’d made it up to third-place.
Hamilton was one of four leading cars not to pit under the safety car, and thus dropped back when he made a later stop under green. New Jersey may have appeared on the latest unofficial 2014 F1 schedule, but sources continue to suggest that the race won’t make the final calendar, due to be agreed by the World Motor Sport Council on Friday.
