Boosted by his best qualifying performance of the season, Valentino Rossi is aiming for victory in Sunday’s Malaysian Grand Prix.

It’s now seven races since Rossi won his only race of the season at the Dutch TT in June.

He will start second on the front row, having just been edged out of pole in the final seconds of qualifying by rookie ace .

Stefan Bradl will miss at least one race following a crash in ’s final practice session. As a result of the incident at Turn 1, the LCR Honda MotoGP rider has sustained a fractured right ankle and will be undergoing surgery in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday night.

During fourth free practice which takes place immediately before qualifying, Bradl lost the front end of his bike entering the first corner. The subsequent crash would leave the 23-year-old with a transversal fracture of the right medial malleolus.

F1: Red Bull Aero Chief Set To Rejoin McLaren

McLaren Racing managing director confirmed today that Red Bull’s head of aerodynamics will return to the Woking team.

Peter Prodromou, who worked at McLaren from 1991 to 2006 before following Adrian Newey to Red Bull, is set to rejoin McLaren in 2015 – although his current employer is still hoping to hang on to him, with Christian Horner saying that the deal was “not set in stone.”

Nevertheless McLaren is adamant that the team has got its man.

MotoGP: Marquez Beats Rossi For Sepang Pole

Marc Marquez will start from a fourth consecutive MotoGP pole position for the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix. Multiple winner lines up second from Britain’s , with title contenders and on the second row of the grid.

Having crashed out in dramatic fashion at MotorLand Aragón, it was Pedrosa who topped the first three practice sessions at the Sepang International Circuit. However, when it came to qualifying the 2012 race winner was unable to muster anything other than fifth place, six tenths of a second down on Marquez’s 2’00.011 pole which establishes a new qualifying record for the venue. This marks Marquez’s eighth pole of 2013, his fourth in succession and fifth from the latest six race events.

F1: Webber On Pole For Japanese Grand Prix

Red Bull driver claimed pole position on Saturday for the Japanese Grand Prix, qualifying ahead of his teammate and runaway championship leader for the first time this season.

Webber clocked a time of 1 minute, 30.975 seconds at the circuit, with Vettel just under two-tenths of a second behind in second place after struggling with his KERS power-boost system.
