MotoGP: Marc Marquez Interview Reflects On 2013 Championship Season

In an in-depth interview with the organizers of the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix this week new MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez reviewed his sensational 2013 season.

The Repsol Honda rider of course won the 2013 MotoGP title by finishing third on Sunday at Valencia, becoming the youngest premier class World Champion in history.

Yamaha Factory Racing wrapped up its final day of 2013 on-track work Tuesday in the second of the three days of official testing at Valencia. Riders Jorge Lorenzo and will not continue to ride Wednesday, having completed the testing schedule required by Yamaha.

On a busy day at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia, 20 riders took to the track on the second day of post-GP testing, with new World Champion Marc Marquez ending the session as the fastest rider.

The team had not tested on Monday, but Marquez and both had full days on Tuesday comparing the new 2014 Honda with their existing machines and completing nearly 150 laps between them.

Fellow Finn Mika Salo has nominated Heikki Kovalainen as the ideal replacement at Lotus for his surgery-bound countryman .

The conventional wisdom is that Lotus will simply promote its reserve driver, 2012 GP2 champion Davide Valsecchi, into Raikkonen’s seat for the remaining two grands prix of the season.
