IndyCar: Castroneves takes pole for Sunday’s GP of Houston Race 2

– Helio Castroneves claimed his 40th career pole tying him for fourth on the all-time list with the legendary Rick Mears on Sunday morning.

Castroneves scored his second Verizon IndyCar Series pole this season when he ran a fast lap of 59.1702 seconds with a speed of 99.415mph around the 10-turn, 1.683-mile temporary street course at Houston’s NRG Park.

HOUSTON (AP) — has fined Marco Andretti $2,500 for failing to heed to an order from race control during Saturday’s race at the Grand Prix of Houston.

Andretti ignored a blue flag to give way to leader Takuma Sato as Andretti tried to stay on the lead lap.

HOUSTON – There were plenty of hot tempers and obscenities on pit road during and after Saturday’s Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston Presented by the Greater Houston Honda Dealers. Can any of that ill will and hard feelings find its way into Sunday’s second race of the Verizon doubleheader?

TUDOR Championship: Brundle Takes OAK Morgan-Nissan to Pole at The Glen

OAK Racing broke through to score its first pole, following a blistering lap set by Alex Brundle in qualifying for Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

The 23-year-old second-generation driver reeled off an impressive 1:37.902 time in his Morgan-Nissan, outpacing the competition by seven-tenths. He was the only driver to break the 1:37 barrier.
