Sebastian Vettel won ′s season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday, matching Michael Schumacher’s record of 13 victories in a year and equaling the nine consecutive wins of Alberto Ascari.

Vettel’s Red Bull teammate was second in his final F1 race. of Ferrari was third.

Vettel, who had already wrapped up a fourth straight F1 title, was overtaken by Nico Rosberg of Mercedes at the start but regained the lead on the second lap and cruised to his second victory in Brazil, and 39th of his career. He crossed the line 10.4 seconds in front of Webber.

Maldonado has been linked with Lotus for weeks, but he is also in the frame at Sauber, with some paddock sources convinced that the Swiss team is now his most likely destination. However, Todt would not confirm that it’s a straight choice between those teams.

Veteran driver manager Julian Jakobi is now working with Sergio Perez in an effort to find the Mexican a 2014 seat.

Perez is increasingly being linked with a possible future at Force India.

Jakobi was at on Friday, although he left for other business in Rio on Saturday. Speaking to, he would only say: “Checo is getting advice from us,” stopping short of confirming that it would lead to a formal managerial arrangement.

Mark Webber will start his final Grand Prix in Brazil from fourth on the grid after struggling to get the best out of his intermediate tires on a drying track in Q3.

Meanwhile Webber is playing down the emotional resonance of his last weekend.

“The drivers’ briefing was interesting,” he said. “Just because the guys gave me a very good reception, and I had a little chat with them. Obviously your colleagues, they’re the ones that you work so hard to compete against over 17 years, and that means a lot to you, so that was quite touching.
