Formula 1: Lotus to switch to Mercedes power in 2015

The deal for Lotus to use power units from 2015 will be confirmed in the next few days. At one stage an announcement was scheduled for yesterday, but it could now come at the start of next week.

The new arrangement sees Lotus take over the supply made available by McLaren’s move to Honda next season.

F1: Hamilton Leads Second Practice At British GP

Lewis Hamilton topped the times ahead of teammate and series leader on Friday in second practice at the British Grand Prix.

The 2008 World Champion clocked a best lap of 1:34.508 to outpace Rosberg, who leads him by 29 points in the championship, by 0.228 seconds.

But on a warm and windy day Hamilton then stopped on track with an engine problem that hit his preparations for Sunday’s key race, which he has targeted for victory in a bid to reboot his title challenge.

Raikkonen considers F1 retirement

Kimi Raikkonen has revealed he will “probably” retire from Formula One at the end of next season.

Despite his 2007 title and his on-form F1 comeback with , the Finn has struggled this year after returning to as Fernando Alonso’s new teammate.

Buemi fastest in opening Formula E test

Sebastien Buemi lapped England’s Park circuit with a 1:35.475s in dry conditions to top the first ever official day of testing for the new FIA Formula E series.

The e.dams-Renault driver was over half a second clear of any of his other competitors, yet there is still a lot to learn before the series begins on September 13.
