Cars: Childhelp ‘Drive The Dream’ Gala To Honor 1964 Le Mans Victory

The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, the only purpose-built driver training facility for performance enthusiasts, and ChildHelp, the nation’s largest organization for abused and neglected children, announced Wednesday that the 10th Annual ChildHelp Drive the Dream Gala will honor the 50th anniversary of the 1964 Shelby American Le Mans victory on Jan. 11 from 5:30-10:30 p.m. The celebration will include a panel discussion during the day with a special cocktail, dinner and display of the Ford-powered Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe with the Ferrari GTO that it narrowly beat at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in , Ariz., that evening.

Rush has received four British Academy Film Awards nominations, including one for Outstanding British Film.

The BAFTAs precede the Academy Awards, and often provide a good guide as to what might happen come the Oscar ceremony.

French authorities hosted a press conference in Albertville Wednesday morning in order to give more details of their investigation into Michael Schumacher’s accident.

Although relatively little emerged, prosecutor Patrick Quincy did clarify a few points.

Michael Schumacher’s wife says the racing legend’s family wants to be left in peace as doctors treat him after a brutal ski crash.

Corinna Schumacher spoke out Tuesday for the first time since her husband’s Dec. 29 accident in the French Alps. In a statement, she said: “It’s very important to me that you ease the burden on the doctors and the hospital so that they can do their work in peace.”
