F1: Di Resta Returns To DTM, Potentially Set For Mercedes F1 Role

Paul Di Resta is returning to DTM with Mercedes this year, having been dropped by Force India at the end of last year.

The new deal opens up the possibility of him working with the Mercedes F1 team, his recent experience making him an obvious candidate for simulator running or even testing. Di Resta says that his potential involvement will be discussed soon.

SportsCars: Zanardi Returns, Will Run Blancpain Sprint Series

Following months of rumors and speculation, BMW Motorsport made it official Tuesday, confirming that Alex Zanardi will make his racing return in 2014, driving a BMW Z4 GT3 in the newly named Blancpain Sprint Series (formerly FIA GT Series).

The 47-year-old former open-wheel star will rejoin the the Roberto Ravaglia-led squad, which he drove for in his first comeback to racing in the European and World Touring Car Championships from 2003-09, when the Italian claimed four victories at the wheel of a BMW 320i.

It’s a dawn of a new era for sports car racing, as the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship kicks off this weekend on the famed Florida high banks for the 52nd annual Rolex 24 at Daytona.

To gear up for the history-making event, FOX Sports’ SPEED Blog previews the twice-around-the-clock endurance classic with a team-by-team look at the 67 cars that are set to compete in the season-opening round.

F1: No Place For Kovalainen As Caterham Takes Pay Drivers

Heikki Kovalainen is without a vehicle after Caterham opted not to take him aboard for this season.

The team had planned to give him a race seat in 2014 after indicating that it did not want to rely on pay drivers, which is why he was a FP1 regular last year.
