MotoGP silly season: Where the riders stand as contract talks heat up

Wednesday’s announcement of Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa to continue with the team alongside Marc Marquez, along with last week’s news of Valentino Rossi extending his contract with Yamaha, has hurt ’s bargaining power when it comes to negotiating terms with Yamaha for an extended contract.

Though it would come as no surprise to see Lorenzo to continue with the Factory Yamaha team, most everything else regarding this winter’s MotoGP silly season is still up in the air.

Germany not Rosberg’s home race, says Hamilton

Nico Rosberg has hit back at his teammate Lewis Hamilton, after the Briton said next weekend’s German Grand Prix is “not really his home race.”

F1 now heads from Hamilton’s home turf at Silverstone to Hockenheim, where German-born Rosberg might expect similar levels of local support.

Not so, Hamilton told reporters, as Rosberg has a Finnish father and he grew up and still lives in Monaco.

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible may look like it’s all about having fun in the sun, but it’s also an expert at crisis management.

No, not the corporate kind that GM is so familiar with these days, and not your mid-life crisis, either. It’s the one where you’re trying to decide whether to buy the convertible sports car you really want or the coupe version you know is going to be a better car.

Charles Pic ran 14 laps on the 18 inch tires at the wheel of the current E22. With few adjustments made to accommodate the very different wheel sizes – and the lack of suspension movement provide by the tire – he was well off the normal pace. However, the point of the exercise was mainly to allow the sport’s key players to judge the appearance of the new tires.

Former driver Sebastien Buemi returned to the top of the scoring pylons at , when he was quickest during FIA Formula E’s third day of testing at the circuit on Wednesday.

The Swiss driver had topped the timing sheets during the opening day of testing last Thursday in his e.dams-Renault, yet admits that the times at this stage don’t tell the full story.
