1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve says Sebastian Vettel’s run of titles is definitely over.

“He’s not going to win this year for sure,” the French Canadian, who is set to return to the Indy 500 this year at the age of 42, is quoted by Italian publications including Autosprint and La Repubblica.

The countdown continues for Marquez as he awaits the first race of 2014 in Qatar. The reigning MotoGP World Champion sat out the recent Malaysian and Australian tests due to a fractured fibula, and acknowledges that he will be at less than 100% for the season opener, but is confident about participating.

Monster Yamaha Tech3’s MotoGP rookie Pol Espargaro crashed with just two laps to go in a Qatar race simulation, breaking his left collarbone just two weeks before his first premier class Grand Prix.

After an otherwise solid preseason – he was second quickest on Sunday and just 0.033s off his brother Aleix’s best time of the test – the Moto2 World Champion now flies home to Barcelona and will go straight to the operating room for surgery in Spain.
