F1: No Team Orders For Hamilton And Rosberg, Says Mercedes Team Boss

In all likelihood, the Australian GP will quickly develop into a battle between Mercedes teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, which begs the question, will they be allowed to race?

Given the potential challenges of fuel consumption, tire durability and of course reliability, a team boss could be forgiven for imposing orders, especially when his cars have such a big advantage over the rest. Why waste a guaranteed one-two when the cars are still potentially fragile by risking retirement?

Franchitti, Pruett and Rojas Win Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring

Chip Ganassi Racing claimed overall victory in Saturday’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, becoming the first team to win the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Indianapolis 500, Daytona 500 and the 12-hour Florida endurance classic.

Marino Franchitti teamed with co-drivers Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas to take their No. 01 Riley-Ford to a narrow 4.682 second-victory over the No. 1 Extreme Speed Motorsports HPD ARX-03b of Ryan Dalziel, Scott Sharp and Ed Brown in second.

Class winners include CORE autosport (PC), Porsche North America (GTLM) and Magnus Racing (GTD).

NHRA: Cruz Pedregon Tops Funny Car Qualifying At Gatornationals

Cruz Pedregon topped Funny Car qualfying in the NHRA Gatornationals for the third year in a row and fifth time overall, powering to a 4.068-second run at 308.21 mph Saturday in his Toyota Camry.

The 1998 Gainesville winner will open Sunday against 16-time world champion John Force.

Hamilton takes pole position in first qualifying session of 2014 season!

Lewis Hamilton followed the form book by taking pole for the Australian GP, but it was far from easy for the Mercedes driver, who like his rivals had to deal with changeable conditions.

Hamilton just outpaced Daniel Ricciardo and teammate Nico Rosberg.
