Tom Kristensen, who will be going for his record tenth Le Mans 24 hour victory this season, drove from the Le Mans city center to the famous Circuit de la Sarthe, showcasing the new Audi R18 e-tron quattro, which he will be competing in during the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship.

Renault Sport insists that it has got to the bottom of the problems suffered in Australia.

Although three of its cars made the points, the other five Renault powered cars failed to see the flag, albeit for a variety of reasons.

After the brilliant form which saw him win five of the last seven races of last season, Jorge Lorenzo had a disastrous start to his 2014 campaign on Sunday in Qatar.

The 2010 and 2012 MotoGP™ World Champion crashed out of the opening Grand Prix of the year on the first lap, having made a trademark stunning start from fifth on the grid to grab the hole-shot into Turn 1.

IndyCar team hauler catches fire on way to season opener

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) reports that its hauler carrying Graham Rahal’s No. 15 race cars, to be driven during the 2014 season opener at St. Petersburg this weekend, caught fire Monday night.

The fire took place in Louisville, Ky. Yet, thanks to the efforts of transporter drivers Phil Davis and Paul Sheehan, and the Zoneton Fire Protection team, the cars and most of the racing equipment was not damaged.

The sound of the 2014 F1 power units has been a subject of debate since the Australian GP, and a negative reaction from fans has hardly come as a surprise. Melbourne F1 boss Ron Walker was quick to join the debate, complaining that he didn’t get the show that he’d signed up for.

In fact, as long as seven years ago the FIA was made aware that engine noise could be an issue once the sport switched to turbo power.
