Helio Castroneves expects some fallout from the bad tempers left over from the last IndyCar race.

James Hinchcliffe, however, thinks most drivers have calmed down heading into Sunday’s Indy Grand Prix of Alabama with the possible exception being Simon Pagenaud.

The Long Beach flareups included Pagenaud refusing to accept an apology after getting spun from behind by Will Power. Ryan Hunter-Reay’s attempt to pass Josef Newgarden on a tight turn led to a collision that collected Hinchcliffe and several other drivers.

Ducati riders Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone had lucky escapes when their Desmosedici GP14 bikes suffered serious engine issues in opening practice for Sunday’s Argentine Grand Prix.

For Dovizioso it was a setback to his hopes of building on the third place podium finish for the troubled Ducati squad at last week’s Texas GP in Austin.

Following yesterday’s announcement that neither points leader Martin Davalos nor third-place holder Blake Baggett will compete Saturday night in New York for Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki, the Monster Energy Supercross 250SX East Region received a major shakeup, especially with rookie sensation Adam Cianciarulo already out of the picture.

As a result of the heartbreaking news out of the Pro Circuit camp, just one of the top four riders in the championship will be racing inside MetLife Stadium – Justin Bogle. As the most dominant team in the region throughout the 2014 season, the realization that there will not be a single Pro Circuit Kawasaki bike on the track Saturday night all but ensures Bogle will earn his first career title. In fact, without Pro Circuit in the mix Bogle’s only other challengers still within a mathematical shot at the title are privateers Vince Friese (-41) and Kyle Cunningham (-47).
