Jorge Lorenzo opened talks with Yamaha for a new contract at this past weekend and has dismissed rumors that he wants the power to decide his teammate for 2015.

While Lorenzo claims that his “priority” is to remain at Yamaha and become a life-time MotoGP rider with the team, he continues to be linked to rumors of big money offer.

MotoGP: Hayden Undergoes Successful Surgery In Italy

DRIVE M7 Aspar rider Nicky Hayden underwent surgery on Tuesday, with an arthroscopic cleaning of his right wrist carried out by Dr Riccardo Luchetti in Italy.

Hayden was operated on to cure a niggling wrist problem that caused him to pull out of the weekend. The American had already ridden through the pain at the previous rounds in Spain and France, and falling on it again in Le Mans.

It was the closest of his six sensational wins this season and one in which¬†Marc Marquez admitted he “nearly crashed” at every corner.

That’s what happens when you engage fierce rival Jorge Lorenzo in a titanic contest for supremacy at for the Italian Grand Prix.

Lorenzo’s dramatic return to his best form forced Marquez to new heights as he won his sixth consecutive race of the season by just 0.121s after 23 absorbing laps.

The huge yellow sea of Valentino Rossi fans were excited to see ‘The Doctor’ back on the podium, as he claimed third position at the Grand Prix of Italy.

Sunday also saw Rossi become the second rider to compete in 300 Grand Prix races, joining fellow Italian Loris Capirossi as a triple centurian.
