Alex Mariñelarena has been injured during a Tech3 Racing Team test at the Paul Ricard Circuit in the south of France.
On Thursday afternoon Mariñelarena suffered a heavy fall which knocked him out of consciousness. While the medical staff of the circuit were administering first aid at the scene, the 21 year-old Spanish rider was awake and able speak to the doctors.
He was then taken to the Saint-Anne hospital in Toulon to undergo further examinations, where the medical staff decided to put him into a medically induced coma.
There is no further medical information regarding the rider’s condition available for the moment, but the Tech3 Racing Team will provide information as soon as his condition improves.
