Horner  Denies Use Of Traction Control For Vettel

Christian Horner has denied suggestions that Sebastian Vettel’s performance in Singapore was aided by a form of traction control.

Since the German’s dominant win at the Singapore GP, paddock gossip has suggested that Red Bull has found an advantage, with former team boss Giancarlo Minardi recently adding to the debate after observing the cars on the Asian street track. In Korea on Thursday, Lewis Hamilton dropped a less than subtle hint about his thoughts on the subject, while a clearly frustrated Vettel opted to joke about it being a feature on his car.

Russian teenager Sergey Sirotkin will have a taste of F1 power when he does a demo run for Sauber in Sochi on Sept. 27, a little over a year before the first GP at the venue.

Sirotkin, who turns 18 next week, visited the team’s Hinwil base this week, where he had a chance to sit in a F1 car for the first time.

“My visit to the Sauber F1 Team headquarters was busy,” he said. “I learned a lot about the team and many other things. I had a seat fitting, met the engineers and learned about the car and what happens over a race weekend.

“I also had a lesson with the steering wheel. I am happy because, if you had told me six months ago that one day I would visit this workshop and meet this team, I would have never believed you. It’s great. The dream is so close to becoming reality now.”

Team boss Monisha Kaltenborn said: “We are proud to be doing the demo run next month. It will be a historical moment when a Russian driver drives a Formula One car for the first time at the track in Sochi.”
